Huda Al-Qatami,
M.Ed., LPC
I received my
Masters in Community Agency Counseling from an accredited program at
the University of Toledo, in Ohio in 1996. After graduation I worked
at Wood County Agency in the dual diagnosis program (dealing with
individuals who struggle with both a mental health and a substance
use disorder). During my three years there I provided individual and
group counseling as well as substance use and mental health
assessments.
In summer of 2000 I moved to Atlanta and worked in a private
practice providing court ordered evaluations for DUI’s, underage
consumption, possession, domestic violence, simple battery…etc. I
also worked one day a week at Skyland Trail (a private mental health
facility) running groups for topics such as stress management,
mental health and substance abuse education, anger management and
self esteem.
In spring of 2001 I decided to start my own private practice. I love
what I do and I am thankful to be able to do it. My clients are
often my best teachers and have been a great source of inspiration
for me. I believe in what I teach and I do my best to practice these
teachings in my own life.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia and a
member of both ACA (American Counseling Association) and LPCA
(Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia). I am also
a DHR Approved Clinical Evaluator, an EAP provider and a public
speaker.
